Each month, WHO supports the rebuilding of Ukraine by funding two drivers, Alexsey and Yura, who work tirelessly to transport goods and people back and forth across the needy, depleted areas of war-torn Ukraine.
We were excited to receive the following new update from our beloved Ira, below:

Many within our WHO family have given huge amounts of time to further the precious ministry of Royal Family Kids' Camp, an outreach of love that is near and dear to their hearts. This year, there are many children who wish to attend camp, and to make that happen, the support of a strong staff is deeply needed. Sergey Lysak was with us on Thursday, February 16, 2023. It is our heart to mobilize our community to support the Ukrainian people who have been displaced and brutalized by war.

In August, we came together to raise over $30,000 for 10 houses for those displaced by war in Ukraine. The cold winter temperatures are coming soon! We are excited the 10 houses we funded are in place!

Horenka, 149 Kyivska Str.
Tetyana (65), Pensioner, and her husband Svyatoslav (72).
They came back home and found just ashes and a garage in holes. It seems that the explosions were caused by phosphorous bombs. "On February, 24 my husband and I were at home in Horenka. At 5:30 am, we knew that the war started, and at about 10 am, we saw our Ukrainian forces with tanks and military vans. They parked they equipment not far from our garden. The Russian forces from the planes and drones started to fire at our forces, and Ukrainian forces fired at them. We sat in the basement for 11 days; it was really scary. On the second day of the war, we were without electricity, and then without gas as well. Honestly speaking, we didn’t need gas back then--we couldn’t enter the house. Missiles were flying over us constantly.
We stayed in the basement like this until March 7. Then volunteers came and evacuated us to a neighboring town under the flying rockets. This town was bombed as well, and we lacked room in the basement for all the people who were evacuated. We stayed with our niece in Kyiv without any clothes and stuff--we only had 5 minutes to get out of our place. On March 23-26, when the Russian troops were cast out, our house and the houses of our daughter and our neighbors burned.
Update Nov 1, 2022: We gave them kitchen with the sink, beds and mattresses, heater, refrigerator and kettle, they found and bought the rest of the stuff they needed. 

Horenka, 2g Michurina Str.
Her husband, a civilian, died during war, killed by the war actions in their village. She is alone and their house completely burned. She has already found a job and tries to take care of herself.
Update Nov 1, 2022 We gave them kitchen, beds, mattresses, electric stove, heater, refrigerator, wardrobe and kettle. 

Hostomel, 5 Sadova Str.
Yulia was at her house all the time. Her house didn’t get the direct hit, but the hits on neighboring homes caused cracks over the whole house. Every day, brick by brick, the house was falling apart. The damage commission checked the house and called it ‘not suitable for restoration’.
During the active actions, when Yulia had electricity, she cooked for our soldiers. She gave away everything she had in their house, including clothes and shoes so our soldiers would not be cold while fighting. She charged their phones, and called mothers of the soldiers to send word their sons were alive.
When it became impossible to live in the house (because it could fall at any minute), the soldiers made a house of bricks and logs for her. It served as a temporary shelter until we put a modular house for her. Yulia lives with her husband; they both are pensioners. They have a daughter who lives in a one-room apartment in Bucha, without room for her parents to stay.
Update Nov 1, 2022: We gave them kitchen, beds and mattresses, heater, electric stove, refrigerator, wardrobe and kettle. They themselves made a small addition to the house, so they have kind of kitchen and two rooms.

Horenka, 138 Kyivska Str.
Mariya and her husband are pensioners. They were evacuated by Ukrainian forces during active battles. When they came back, their house was burned and uninhabitable. There is proof of a phosphorus bomb. At first, they asked our team to put the house on the street, as someone was still helping them to clean the debris of their former home. Later they moved the house into their yard and placed it where the entrance doors match the threshold of their ruined house.  (You can see that in the picture with mattresses.) They have son who helped with furniture in the modular house.
Update Nov 1, 2022 We finished filling up this house as well. We gave them beds, matrasses, refrigerator, heater, kitchen, table and chairs. 

Hostomel. 47 Kulisova Str.
Yevhen and his wife and child managed to leave the house before it was bombed. However, his father stayed in the house---he didn’t want to leave it, as he had built it with his hands. He was still in it when a shell hit the gazebo next to the house. A fire started and moved to the house, Neighbors managed to get him out through the window. He later died of a heart attack. Yevheniy came back, and little by little will restore or build his home from the beginning. This modular house will be a great support for him, his wife and their small child. When he arranges the communications in the house, his family will move in and we will have more pictures of them.
Update Nov 1, 2022: They did a lot by themselves, as a young family. Also we gave them kitchen, but he is painting the house now, so they will install it later.

Horenka, 138a Kyivska Str.
On February 24, the war started. For 4 days, Lidiya’s family lived in the basement. On February 28, they had to leave their town. On March 12, they arrived to Netherlands; on the the same day they got a video of their house, basement and garage burning. The home of 4 families was destroyed. Lidiya is a pensioner, 69 years old. She has a granddaughter, Daryna, who is 16; Lidiya is her guardian. Before we put the modular house, Lidiya had lived in a tent made for her. We temporarily put the house nearby. Later, they will move it into her yard.
Update Nov 1, 2022: We gave them kitchen, beds and mattresses, refrigerator, heater, electric stove, kettle, table and chairs. She arranged a whole house and now it looks like home.

Horenka, 178 Kyivska Str.
Valentyna and her family were hiding in their neighbor's basement during the first days of the war. They were then evacuated. After they came back, they saw that their house had burned, bombed by phosphorus bomb. On the video she is saying that she is happy to have this house and that it’s much better than the destruction she came back to.
Update Nov 1, 2022 We gave her also the same stuff like to everyone, we gave them kitchen, beds and mattresses, refrigerator, heater, electric stove, kettle, table and chairs.

Horenka, 24 Zavodska Str.
On the video Yuriy shows his house that is not suitable for living. His wife and he lived there. They had just finished repairs in their kitchen before the war. At first, they hid in the kitchen and slept on mattresses there. When shelling hit their house, cracks went all over the place and they were forced to look for shelter.
In May, Yuriy’s wife passed away in age of 42.
Update Nov 1, 2022 We could help him with everything necessary: bed, matrass, kitchen, stove, kettle, refrigerator, heater, kettle and wardrobe. He is trying to fix something in his destroyed house now before colds come, so it doesn't get destroyed even more during winter. 

Horenka, 55 Kulishova Str.
They left on February, 24 to stay with their relatives in Belohorodka. They took their grandson, 3 years old, and their mom Olga, 73 years old (she had sugar diabetes, and unfortunately she passed away a month after the war began because of the stress). On March, 12 they got a call from their neighbors that their house had burnt. They came back in the beginning of May and started to clean up as they could. The house is not suitable for life, but maybe with time they will manage to earn money and try to rebuild their house, at least a part of it.
Update Nov 1, 2022: We gave them kitchen, beds and mattresses, refrigerator, heater, electric stove, kettle, table and chairs.

Horenka, 186 Kyivska Str.
On February, 24 the couple woke up from the explosions they heard. Opening the news, they found out that the war had started. They called their children to come and stay with them, as they had basement and at that time it seemed that it was safer outside of Kyiv city.
On February, 25 the electricity went off, as the high-voltage power line was damaged due to the fact that orcs stormed the airport and there were street battles in Hostomel, Irpin and Bucha. The whole family hid in the basement as the explosions were too loud and the whole town was being bombed. They had witnessed fighter raids, destruction from aerial bombs, terrible fires from shells, a humanitarian crisis and deaths of people.
On March, 5 the whole family moved to the neighboring town Pushcha-Vodytsya, but shelling reached that town as well, so they had to go to the west of Ukraine. The only person from their family who didn’t want to leave was Tetyana’s brother-in-law, who didn’t want to abandon his animals. He helped Ukrainian soldiers to hide, gave them place in the basements of their houses.
On March, 24, at night, the foreign drone was spying over their street, and later the same night Russian troops covered all the houses on their street with incendiary (phosphorus) shells. They hit directly into the house of Yuriy and Tetyana, and fortunately the Ukrainian soldiers who were hiding there survived, they only got injuries and contusions, and they were grateful for the strong building. Tetyana’s brother-in-law was in the middle of fires from different sides, there was no water, no light, no people to help to put out the fire. He had to watch how their houses were being destroyed. When Yuriy and their family came back, there was not much left of their house. This modular house now is their safe place.

Thank you to all of you who were so faithfully with us in prayer and spirit during WHOKids! Camp last week. We could feel your presence so close. What a beautiful time we had together.
So many moments of laughter and fun, and also moments where rich things of the Spirit were opened up in them. Our children came hungry, and Jesus is so faithful to meet them in this place and to do more than we can ask.

During our week of camp, we talked a lot about worship--looking at the Lord, looking into His eyes, and responding to His perfect love and holiness that we are forever reminded of in the center of His throne. We talked about how when we see Him enthroned, when we look at Him and see who He is, right in front of us, all kinds of things come up out of us. Like praise and declaration, gratitude and love and repentance, holy holy holies and worthiness to our King. This is worship! And it can happen every day of our lives as we, in our hearts and spirits, look at the Lord.

Each day we took time to have journal and worship time with Jesus. In these moments the children could sing and write and talk with the Lord, or simply rest in His presence and let Him talk to their hearts. After one of these times, a girl came back to our circle to share what happened when she was worshipping Jesus. She said she had closed her eyes, and when she opened them, she was surrounded by people with cancer. She and Jesus went person to person and prayed for them. It came out of her so anointed in God's presence, and it ushered us into intercession for several.  
Many times after we see Jesus, we find ourselves in prayer for others. We feel His love and how strong it is. All things are possible in Him! And we begin to pray.  

On Thursday, each of the children got to take their seat inside of Jesus on His throne (we are seated in Him, in Heavenly places!), and they prayed having His eyes and heart for the things on their hearts. These moments were some of the holiest I've ever been a part of. Many of them experienced the nearness of the Lord so deeply in this time with Him.
It was all such a precious time with them inside the heart of God. I am so very thankful.

On Tuesday, we took time to talk about Hebrew poetry. We read some from Psalms to see how it is written and then as a group we began to write our own poem of worship to the Lord. Their hearts so pure and deep, offered such genuine words of worship from within. It was beautiful.  

I wanted share with you a song that came from the words of their Hebrew style worship poem. Jen Delgado and Jovie put the words to music!  On the last day of camp, they taught the children their song of worship to the Lord. It was and is so beautiful!! I invite you to join in this worship with us! Diane put it altogether into a video with words so it would be easy for you to learn it and sing it.

Thank you again for being with us. Thank you for seeing Jesus in the children, for believing in them, and for welcoming them so fully into your hearts. Thank you for covering them in prayer. His love and presence is so strong within and upon them all.

From August 9 through August 23, WHO will match up to $15,000 in donations towards houses for those displaced by war, to get people under roof before the cold winter temperatures set in. Our goal is $30,000, which will fund 10 homes @ $3,000 per house.

As we work together with incredible relationships and organizations, food and supplies are reaching those hardest hit by the ongoing war in Ukraine. Van loads of supplies have been dispensed to Cherkasy, Kharkiv and Mariupol.

WHO is honored to partner with ATK Ministries (Steve and Gina Burris) and Koinonia Ministries (Randy and Corey Strombeck). We honor the many beautiful hands who serve daily to dispense these much-needed supplies.

Many of our connections in Ukraine are currently in safe places.

We are continuing to mobilize money and resources to care for our dear ones overseas. To date, we have collected over $25,000, but that balance continues to regularly increase, for which we are so grateful.

There are many "hot spots" in Ukraine where the humanitarian need is steeply increasing. Sergey and Vika Lysak have pioneered a movement of the church there to care for the many hungry and displaced people who have made the metro tunnels their safe haven. People are sleeping on mats, train benches, and floors. Sergey and his amazing team are spending roughly $1,000 USD per day. They bring blankets, mattresses, food, and personal care items all across their area, passing through many security checkpoints to visit multiple train stations. People are enduring high levels of stress.

Steve Burris worked with contacts overseas to finalize the purchase of much needed emergency food supplies. They are being gathered into Poland, and will be shipped from there into Ukraine.  This is only the first of many. 10,000 cans of meat, 2,000 cans of soup, and 2,500 frozen pastries, plus other humanitarian items. That's food for thousands of people for days. We are so thankful to know these supplies will be in Sergey's hands very soon. In an incredible expression of the Father's heart, the church there is thanking the Lord for this incredible opportunity to serve. We are beyond ready to continue to partner with their work there. It's incredible.

We continue to pray for breakthroughs in the battles for the cities of Mariupol, Kharkov, and many other areas where brutal assault continues to destroy their cities and homes.

9 Ukrainians (women and children) have migrated to Germany to stay with Gabby and Lilli Schintu. They are doing fairly well, considering the circumstances. Lilli is running point with local town authorities, concerning the appointments to get registered for a temporary residence permit, which the EU has granted Ukrainians on a special basis. After that they will receive a voucher for free healthcare assistance, which is renewable every 3 months. They will also get some form financial assistance, the amount is yet to be determined.

for Patrick (Laurel White's nephew). He has suffered a really hard COVID infection that critically damaged his liver. His only chance of survival is a liver transplant; he is currently being tested to see if he is a candidate.

for Mary Strauser (Tammie Fisher's aunt), who is dealing with heart valve issues. She is slated for surgery on Thursday. (Also) Tammie is dealing with allergies, as well as muscle spasms from some medication she is taking.

for Thomas Embry, who is facing a difficult personal challenge and needs the wisdom, courage, and healing of the Lord.

for Kim Miller (Cat's husband), who recovering from rotator-cuff surgery.

for Emily (Maggie Sayers' sister), who is undergoing treatment for breast cancer. She has been having issues with her heart and lungs, which doctors believe may be post-Covid complications. She has one treatment left which has been put on hold until doctors can run some tests.

for Anne DeGrange's family. Her great-granddaughter Cheyanne continues to suffer with a difficult heart malformation. Please pray for the Lord to touch and restore this family.

for the Myers family. Mike's recovery is being hindered by a build-up of fluid in his leg. Pray for his surgeon to have creative ideas to resolve this. Pray also for creative solutions for their financial obligations. The Myers family continues to need financial support and encouragement. We have raised nearly $10,000 for our Ukrainian family and all of it has been securely transferred. They have already purchased a generator and fuel. We are continuing to collect and compile a fund for the effective and immediate relief of Ukrainian need as it rises, including full evacuation, provisions, shelter and transportation.

Monday, February 20
With Russia commencing its invasion of Ukraine, Russian rockets have reached Kiev and surrounding areas. Several families we know have already started to migrate west. There is still only a voluntary call for reservists to join the active military. As of now, all of our friends and family there are safe and accounted for.

We have raised nearly $10,000 for our Ukrainian family and all of it has been securely transferred. They have already purchased a generator and fuel. The remaining funds are ready if a full evacuation is required.

Pray that her vision and the (roughly 20) stroke sites in her brain to heal, that her unborn baby to be unharmed during the procedure, and her husband Josh as he walks with his family through this challenge.

for Jessica Goins, who has been admitted to an NC hospital with Covid. She has since developed pneumonia. Today was a more difficult day; pray for her lungs to continue to improve and her spirit to be encouraged.

for the family of Ray Berger (his wife Katie and their 3 children). Ray passed away this weekend from complications from Covid.

in joy and ongoing intercession for Ruth Kuhns, who continues to improve each day. Her oxygen support level is decreasing, but she cannot move much without needing higher oxygen. Her doctors expect it will be a few more days yet until they can consider sending her home.

for Eric (Ashley Wiley's brother), who has been diagnosed with a rare condition related to a bundle of abnormal veins. He is scheduled for surgery on December 14 to have them removed at Johns Hopkins. Pray for the procedure to go well, and that Eric will be whole and restored. Additionally, pray for Eric and his family to experience peace and rest as they trust the Father.

for Donna (Amber Murray's mom), who has been discharged and is continuing to heal at home.

for Tammie Fisher, who fell down her basement steps on Saturday and is being examined on Friday for two possible fractures in her foot.

for Laurel White, who continues to deal with difficult back pain. Pray also that she finds a suitable 2-bedroom apartment to rent.

for Vicki King, as her chemo treatments come to and end and as she begins radiation treatments. Pray for the side effects from her chemo to subside.

for Anne DeGrange's great-granddaughter Cheyanne, who needs a heart surgery; however, it has been postponed because Cheyanne is sick. Doctors want to give her the best possible outcome, but have said they will not delay the procedure any further than the end of December.

We Are Praying...

for our families in the coming weeks. As we meet together, may we be a presence of deep love and peace around the family table. We pray specifically for those who have not encountered the Presence of Jesus to experience Him in us.

Pray for us to continue allowing the Lord to renew minds concerning abundance and finances. Jesus, we know we are made for abundant living and expansion. Help us to have Your mind in all things, including finances.

in joy and ongoing intercession for Ruth Kuhns, who is improving! She has been moved to a less-intensive wing of the hospital. She is spending quite a bit of time on her stomach, which allows her lungs to function optimally. We continue to pray for her lungs to recover; they are still crackling a little but they are better than yesterday! Keep praying for Ruth and Wayne!

for Ruth Kuhns, who came home yesterday afternoon after being admitted with communal pneumonia on Sunday. She is feeling much better, but is being monitored for any sign of fever as she recovers.

Insight:

You may have noticed that for the last 6 weeks, we've done communion every week. In September, a friend came to Mark in the heart of the Lord, encouraging the WHO family to take communion every Sunday for a period of time (currently, our thought is to continue through the end of the year).

Remembering of the Lord through communion is not just to recollect Jesus, but to reassemble His body by bringing the thoughts, memories, concepts, principles of the Lord back to the forefront, reassembling them and giving them our focus. We are re-membering the body of Jesus, putting it back together the way it should be. Often, when communion is done not just consistently but intentionally, it brings healing to a group of people, a family, a church, overcoming fractures, divisions or conflict. There is supernatural healing in the practice of communion, bringing believers together in the memory and attention of Jesus.

Jesus, we come intentionally into your Presence, and we repent for responding to voices other than yours.

What are YOU saying, Lord? 
What is on Your heart?

We hear You saying, “come up here!” It’s as simple as turning off the other outlets that feed into us. We choose to limit access to our soul to the One who has all authority in heaven and on earth. His voice is the one voice we center ourselves upon.

We center ourselves in Him, our King, the Father, the Source, the Author, the Good One hose every thought about us is for our benefit, expansion, and health.
